Join the Nottingham branch of ACORN - the community union for a special screening of Slumlord Millionaire!

This award-winning documentary that follows fearless residents, activists and nonprofit attorneys fighting corrupt landlords and developers for the basic human right to a home, in some of New York City's most rapidly gentrifying neighbourhoods. Through stories from across the boroughs, the film reveals the harsh realities of unsafe housing, unethical landlords, and an overwhelmed housing court system — a fight that will feel painfully familiar to renters here too. Winner of the DOC NYC Audience Award, this is both a sobering and empowering watch — a story of ordinary people organising and refusing to back down.

ACORN will introduce the film and host a live Q&A after the screening, exploring what this means for renters in our own city, and how you can get involved in the fight for housing justice closer to home.

Housing is a human right. Come find out how we're organising to win it.
